I’ve written a lot about the importance of social connection (and my book, The Gospel of Wellness, delves into how loneliness partially fueled the popularity of wellness establishments like boutique gyms). Now, it seems, politicians are taking the loneliness crisis more seriously: This week, Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., introduced legislation to create a federal office to help improve social infrastructure and, well, help Americans make more friends.
